Processors/ Manufacturers except for vegetable oil, slaughtering units, dairy units, processing units, and meat processing units. Repackaging refers to packing food products into various sizes with labelling after doing less processing as required such as grading, sieving, and sorting, etc. The food product is not composition, formulation, and manipulated is not affected or modified.

Proprietary food indicates an object of food that has not been standardized under any regulations but does not incorporate foods for special dietary uses, novel foods, foods for special medical purposes, functional foods, nutraceuticals, health supplements, and such other food articles which the Central Government may notify in this behalf.

(They are required to employ for product approval under Food Safety and Standards (Approval of non-specified food and food ingredients) Regulations at FSSAI-HQ separately before applying for a license.
